Freight Coordinator

Vancouver, Canada (In-Office, Remote, Hybrid)

This new position will be responsible for helping to coordinate our rapidly expanding freight services. We have a diversified portfolio of loyal clients to whom we are entrusted to provide customs brokerage services. We have provided freight services to these clients on a limited scale, which we are now expanding.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Book freight transactions and monitor all movements to ensure highest level of customer service.
  • Develop promotional materials and a strategic plan to develop our freight service offering, including the identification of potential freight customers, suitable modes of transport and routes to target.
  • Develop relationships with carriers in each mode of transport, to negotiate best prices for our clients.
  • Win freight business, ideally long-term bookings.

Education & Experience:

  • 2+ years of related experience in freight forwarding primarily North American road trucking.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are needed
  • Goal-oriented, positive, and friendly demeanor to represent our century-old company with integrity.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit to own the development of this department.
  • Familiar with sales prospecting, negotiating, closing techniques, and most importantly relationship management.  You will be selling additional services to existing, long-time, loyal customers, where the relationship is everything.

Compensation:

  • Commensurate with experience
